The Maxwell Kyon Foundation organized an interactive session on HUMAN RIGHTS AND GENDER RELATED ISSUES AS IT AFFECTS YOUNG GIRLS & WOMEN at Our Lady Of Fatima, Secondary School in Kaduna on the 2nd of February 2024. The discussion aimed at creating awareness and addressing the Complex and Interrelated Issues of human rights abuse, gender discrimination, gender abuse/ violence, the consequent effect of abuse on the mental health of young girls and women and the ways of seeking help and justice.

Our Resource persons shared their experiences and discussed strategies for seeking redress for abuse and participants learned about their rights under the law. They were also given information handbooks on human rights and gender-based violence and had one-on-one sessions with our team of professionals at the event.

The Foundation has set the ball rolling in breaking down barriers and empowering girls and women to make positive change in their lives by our commitment and dedication to helping girls and women in the community through follow-up activities. By taking a holistic approach to gender equality and human rights, the Maxwell Kyon Foundation is creating a lasting impact in working to build partnerships with other organizations and individuals who share its commitment in improving the lives of girls and women. Through these partnerships, we hope to expand our reach and create even more opportunities for positive change.

We thank the Principal, the entire management and leadership of Our Lady of Fatima for this privileged opportunity to contribute to the future, well-being, and the betterment of the lives of the girls and young women of the school.
