Courtesy Call On His Royal Highness, The Etsu Chikun, Mr. Ishakwu Yari
The Maxwell Kyon Foundation paid a courtesy visit on His Royal Highness, Mr. Ishakwu Yari, the Etsu Chikun on the 23rd of October 2023.
The CEO of the Foundation, Mr. Maxwell Kyon, who led the team informed the traditional ruler that he and his team were in his palace to pay their respect to His Royal Highness and his cabinet of chiefs and also to introduce the Maxwell Kyon Foundation to the respected traditional ruler.
He said the Foundation is a Non Governmental Organization chiefly working in the areas of educating the polity on Human Rights, Gender Equality, Girl Child Education and Gender Based Violence.
He told the traditional ruler that the Foundation is looking to organise a number of interventions within his domain with the aim of sensitizing his subjects on issues that revolve around its thematic areas of focus.
In his response, the Etsu Chikun II who spoke through his Waziri, said he was very pleased to have the Foundation in his palace particularly considering the very laudable projects which the Foundation is involved in.
He said the Chiefdom welcomes any intervention by the Foundation on the thematic areas listed by the CEO of the Foundation considering the fact that a people well informed of their rights and schooled as to their obligations to the society are better positioned to add value to their immediate society and the nation as a whole.
He said the doors of the Chiefdom were always open to the Foundation and he looks forward to further interactions with the Foundation in the not too distant future.
Round Table Presentation

Courtesy visit to the office of the Deputy Controller of Corrections at the Kaduna Correction Center
The Chairman of the Maxwell Kyon Foundation led volunteers and one of our partners (Juhel Nigeria Limited) on a courtesy visit to the office of the Deputy Controller of Corrections at the Kaduna Correction Center on the 15th of September 2023.
The visit afforded the foundation the opportunity to interface with the Deputy Controller and discuss ways by which the Foundation can contribute positively to the lives of the inmates.
The Foundation also presented the Deputy Controller with drugs donated by its partner (Juhel Nigeria Limited) and also toiletries, soap and sanitary pads for the inmates.
Courtesy Visit on The Hon. Attorney General of Kaduna State
The Board Of Trustees of The Maxwell Kyon Foundation paid a courtesy call on the Kaduna Office of the National Human Rights Commission today the 21st of August 2023 and were received by Khadija Madaki (Senior Investigation Officer), Mr. Nanle John (Assistant Chief Admin Officer), Mr. Aliyu Yusuf Aliyu (Senior Investigation Officer) and some other members of the Commission.
The Chairman of the Board, Mr. Maxwell Kyon in commended the Commission for the work it’s already doing in the ensuring the protection of human rights of all and sundry in Nigeria.
He said the vision of the Foundation is quite in line with what the Commission is doing and the Foundation is interested in partnering and collaborating with the Commission in ensuring that the promotion and protection of the rights of everyone with particular emphasis on vulnerable persons within the State and beyond.
He stated further that the Foundation is not only interested in creating awareness and sensitising the public on their rights but also taking up pro bono cases on behalf of the victims of Human Rights violation and gender based violence as a means of contributing its quota in the attainment of Justice through legal means within the State.
Also speaking on behalf of the Foundation, Ms. Gladys Matthew said that the Foundation is already dialoguing with key stakeholders in some communities within the State as part of its efforts in achieving its goals of educating and sensitizing the polity on their rights also providing the much needed listening ear and counselling to victims of Gender Based Violence in those communities.
Khadija Madaki, Nanle John and Aliyu Yusuf Aliyu who spoke on behalf of the Commission appreciated the Foundation’s initiative particularly in the steps taken by the Foundation to institute actions on behalf of the vulnerable for the enforcement of their Fundamental Rights.
Khadija Madaki reiterated the commitment of the Commission in partnering with the Foundation to achieve the communal goal of curbing the menace of human rights violations within the State.
Courtesy Visit on The National Human Rights Commission
The Board Of Trustees of The Maxwell Kyon Foundation paid a courtesy call on the Attorney General of Kaduna State, Mr. Sule Shuaibu on the 16th of August 2023.
The Chairman of the Board Mr. Maxwell Kyon congratulated the AG on his appointment and assured the AG of the Foundation’s support.
He said the Foundation is interested in partnering and collaborating with the Kaduna State Ministry of Justice in ensuring that the criminal Justice system within the State is better focused to deliver speedy justice to all and sundry.
He assured the AG of the availability of the Foundation to contribute in whatever way it can to the attainment of Justice through legal means within the State.
The Attorney General in his response appreciated the Foundation’s support and pledged to partner with every and any group whose desire is to see to the attainment of a better focused Justice delivery system within Kaduna State.
He said he has already gotten the cooperation of the lawyers in the Ministry to ensure that legal advice are put together within 7 days of receipt of case diaries from the police so as to ensure that criminal cases are not delayed unnecessary while persons accused of the commission of criminal offenses are kept in custody.
He said he looked forward to partnering with the Foundation to achieve the communal goal of preserving and protecting the rights of all and sundry within Kaduna State.
